BiGayMen.com

A Free Social Network and Dating Site for Bisexual and Gay Men!

Yeah I know a lot of people think that those two words dont go together, but I am living proof that it is possible. I was just wondering if there are others on this site that are gay Christians. I have found a few sites that support this idea, such as: GayChristians.net and Christiangays.com

Maybe someone else has found other sites, and i would love to hear from you if you do. Thanks for reading this ;) and look forward to hearing from future friends :D

Hey, im in the same boat....where abouts are you from?

let me look into it, I've found some events, but nothing where I live

Lets keep in touch
Well my location is on my profile lol but yeah finding events that are local is difficult.
Not an expert on this, but I know many denominations/churches in the U.S. are very friendly to gay people. [Some are founded by gay ministers and catering to mostly gay congregations, but these tend to be small.] In the central part of Chicago boystown, there is probably one "gay church" every other block, with rainbow colored cross and all that. GayChurch.org has a list of Gay ad Lesbian Friendly Christian Churches for most parts of the world.
Thank you so much, you a really great help, you know that? :D Thank you for the support!
Move to England, Benji! The national church here, the Anglicans, is very much okay with homosexuality. I don't want to sound anti-Catholic, but they are backward on sexuality.
Hahaha... its funny because Ive been asked to move to England before lol. I would love to be able to find a church that would accept me just as I am. Maybe when I actually move out of my house I'll find one ;)
Benji - is unlikely that you will ever find a christian group that will accept you as you are - sad but the turth. You will always be a third class citizen. Remember, being "okay" with gayness is not the same as actually accepting you - there are far too many biblical quotations that will be used against you [whether they have been translated correctly from Ancient Aramaic or not.....] but of course there will never be a quote from Jesus himself about it.

Of course, your own spiritual existence does not actually require "acceptance" by any group - you can [and really should] simply be happy with who you are and happy in the knowledge that if there is a supernatural being looking after you then they will unlikely be worried about who you love or what you get up to in the bedroom.

The best advice I can give you is that if anyone tells you that there is only one God, one religion, etc. they are surely lying to themselves and to you - best to keep your mind open to the unknowable.
Dmon:

Check out http://mccchurch.org/. MCC is probably the first church founded by bi/gay/tran people. They are growing fast, and there are quite a few churches imitating them now.

I think in US, if you live in a major city, it is no longer hard to find a Christian group that accept bi/gay people as you are.

Old Testament does have passages against any non-conventional sex, but it is totally against any birth-control and eating shell-fish as well. I think how to interpret Bible is definitely a matter of debate, rather than set in stone.
At the same time there are passages in the bible that seem a little pro same sex if you interpret it a certain way even if you look at the various translations from Aramaic; the original language of the old testament.

According to this website, http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_bmar.htm, it suggests that there are 3 same sex relationships in the bible, the notable one being David and Jonathan.

They include several interpretations of it as well for some of the passages, so although the meaning slightly changes, it's still suggestive of same sex unions between a man and a man.

Again, it's up for debate not only because of the way it's written but because of Linguistic Relativism. What that means is that some concepts don't translate very well across languages or sometimes some concepts can't be explained at all. Some things only make sense if you learn the language, the culture, and the historical context in which it took place in, but imagine how these concepts would be lost if it was translated through several different languages let's say from Aramaic to Latin, then Latin to Old English, then Old English to Modern English...
yes i defenitly will support this group. Im a gay christian, I avtually teach sacred dances in the church
This is a good topic, for me im bi, and never told any one at my church, which is hard cause I play in the church band, not sure what they would do if they found out I like guys as well girls.
In Chile there's no tolerance to gay people in christian communities. I mean, you can go to church and tell everybody if you want that you like men, but things would only get awkward if you try to do that. And they obviously don't support gay relationships as a valid path, and don't even think about gay marriage.

That's what i hate about 3rd-world countries, we're so damn late about almost every social topic :(

There's this friend of mine who is very into catholycism, he's been studying it for years and he goes to improve what he knows to Italy, so he has become a very trustable catholic font of knowledge. It is very, and i mean VERY pleasant to ask him for advice, and i think it would be so nice that all the christian people would look at the rest of the gay guys just the way he does, because that would help us all (and them) to get helped in many things. Sometimes it's hard to get along with everything on your own.
