God only said that being gay is wrong in the Old Testament. The only places where it actually says that homosexuality is wrong is in the Old Testament (which is no longer followed) and in a letter from someone (Paul, I think?) to Jesus, and seeing as Paul was not a divine being, God doesn't seem to really have much of an opinion on your lifestyle, so rest peacefully knowing that God doesn't have any personal vendetta against you because he got over that when the Old Testament went out of style. :)

Better question - why do you consider the Christian God the one and only God that knows what is right and wrong?
What if the Christian God isn't the one true God, but only the perception of the truly divine being by a limited group of mortal men that adulterated the message of the truely divine being in order to impose their own views and values onto those around them?

Hi Ne Ne Cherry, God didn't make anybody gay. By the way, The three great monotheistic religions- Jews, Christians, and Muslims all believe in the same God. Only Christians believe that there are Three Divine Persons in the Godhead. These great Western religions do not believe that active homosexuality is morally acceptable. As long have two faculties an: intellect and a free will we will be held accountable for the decissions we make and those we fail to make. You might not like these facts but they are true.

Frank if i had a choice of whether to be gay or not i certainly wouldn't of chosen being gay so don't give me that crap about deciding anythingi was born this way so that is GODs fault....

Western religions are all "New age" religions compared to the polytheistic religions of China, India, and those the Western religions violently eradicated throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

What makes the western religions "RIGHT" and all other religions wrong?
Christ taught only love, not judgment, not hatred, and that no one is perfect, nor capable of determining the sins of others.
He didn't say there was no sin - only that sins were to be dealt with internally - and personal improvement was all to work for...
Helping others was to be commended, condemning others or pointing out their flaws was to be avoided.

Kalash,your ignorance about religious matters almost make me laugh. You are determined to blame any type of God who disagrees with your foolish thinking. It's too bad that you hadn't majored in Religious Studies, like I did, Then you might be able to have a real conversation debating the religious differences among the world's religions.But you haven't got the education necessary to conduct a viable religious discussion, and since I don't want to continue making a fool out of you I choose not to debate religious matters with you. Redshift is a bit different as he was born and raised a Roman Catholic. I am able to talk to him about religious matters because we come from familiar backgrounds. Sncerely, Frank

You don't discuss religious matters with anyone - you judge, condemn, and ridicule.
It's my personal belief that you do this because you cannot reconcile your own feelings with the teachings of the God you've chosen for yourself.

I'm not blaming God for making me Gay.
You - however - do. You blame god for testing you. You blame him for giving you desires and telling you that you cannot relieve them.
And you ridicule others that you believe to be less strong resisting God's temptations than you are.

That's blame.
I don't believe in your God.
It'd be hard for me to blame him for anything...

You don't appear to know the difference between an agnostic and an atheist.
Religious studies? Really?

Name one alternative religion you've studied.

Interesting Mason, the only reason i started this discussion was because someone said something about god and homosexuality, and to tell you the truth i haven't believed in god since i decided to come out as the catholic church are so far stuck up themselves and i have been to other churches as well and got my head kicked in because of what i am to me that is not christianity. I wont believe in something that can't be proven anymore.......

Actually I had a short discussion with someone about this and he is Jewish and he told me some interesting things about homosexuality. Like the term "homosexual" isn't actually in the bible. It was put in by man I do believe sometime in the mid 1800s. Don't quote me but I think that most of the negative responses towards gays are completely based on assumptions. If I do recall correctly the actual sin in the Old Testament in reference to Sodom and Gomorrah was gang rape and inhospitality, not being a homosexual. Jesus doesn't even mention anything about being gay in the New Testament anyway. I'll try to see if I can meet up with him again and get all of this information down.
